Family Session

ACTIVITY. Feel free to bring an activity that you enjoy doing together. This gives you something to do with your hands and feet, engages the little ones, and brings a smile to your face.

CLOTHING. Chose neutral colors with soft, flowing fabrics…. think creams, very soft pastels, light browns, tans, grays, and slate blues. You might also choose coordinating colors (but not matchy, matchy) with bold accent colors, such as hues of gray with yellow or bright red accents.

Have FUN during the session. Laugh. Giggle. Joke. Embrace. Kiss. Snuggle. Play. Doing these things will allow me to capture the emotion and true beauty of your family.

I don’t need your kids to be at their best behavior. Kids should be kids, even during a photo session. You’ll still going to see love, to see beauty. Don’t worry about me, about the camera. Deal with any situation as you normally do.

Just ENJOY this day. We’re so busy, our life is busy. We’re so rushed all the time. Take this moment, take this time to just sit and enjoy your family. Think about the session as an opportunity to slow down and spend time with people you love.

Newborn Session

MOOD. First of all, do not worry if your house is a mess. Don’t even stress out! If you didn’t have dishes piled in the sink, dirty clothes and baby items strewn all about, I’d think you were weird:) I wish you could relax and enjoy the session.

TEMPERATURE. I recommend that you keep your home a bit warmer than normal during the session. (Like a toasty 80 degrees or so.)

SLEEP. FEED. It would be great if some time during the session baby is in a deep sleep. To encourage this, I recommend that you do whatever it takes to make sure he is nice and exhausted. But don't worry too much about it. If it doesn't happen I'll be happy to capture her beautiful eyes.

I’ll also be more than happy to take as many breaks as needed to help them re-fuel.

CLOTHING. Keep it simple. Throw in a little color if you’d like, but skip the busy patterns.

SETTINGS. Please, make the bad. I might suggest that we move the session to your bedroom at some point. If that’s something that appeals to you, a few tips:

  1. Make the bed, just this once.

  2. A solid blanket/comforter (or something that isn’t TOO busy is best.)

  3. I highly recommend white to light cream bedding to keep things light and airy. (And I'm more than happy to bring some along if needed! Just let me know)

PROPS. I'll bring some props. If you have something cute for your baby to wear or if there is a special favorite blanket that you want them to be wrapped in, please, make it ready.

TIME. Newborn session usually lasts about 2 hours.
