Embrace Breastfeeding: A Photographic Celebration of Nursing in Public
As a devoted newborn and family photographer, a mother of two, and soon to be three, I am passionate about fostering a society where breastfeeding in public is normalized and embraced. Through my project, "Embrace Breastfeeding," I aim to capture the beauty and necessity of breastfeeding, promoting a culture of support and acceptance for mothers everywhere.
Breastfeeding is a natural, essential part of motherhood, yet many new mothers feel compelled to seclude themselves, from using restrooms to staying indoors, to nurse their babies. "Embrace Breastfeeding" seeks to challenge and change these norms by showcasing the tenderness and normalcy of breastfeeding through powerful photographic narratives.
This project not only highlights the intimate moments of nurturing but also voices the shared experiences and challenges faced by breastfeeding mothers. By bringing these images and stories into public spaces and discussions, we can help demystify breastfeeding, encourage societal acceptance, and empower mothers to feel confident and comfortable nursing in public.
